Bhubaneswar, July 22 UDN}: The Minister has issued a clear and reassuring statement regarding the damage caused by the recent rain-related disaster, assuring farmers that financial assistance will be provided based on the actual extent of crop and agricultural losses. The government will assess the damage caused by heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions and prepare detailed reports based on field-level evaluations.
Once the damage assessment and loss reports are finalized, eligible farmers will receive financial assistance directly in their bank accounts. The assistance will be transferred through a direct benefit mechanism, ensuring that the compensation reaches the affected farmers without unnecessary delays or intermediaries.
The Minister emphasized that the government is closely monitoring the situation and taking steps to ensure that farmers who have suffered losses due to excessive rainfall and related natural calamities receive appropriate support. The compensation process will be based on official damage assessment reports, with the extent of crop loss and the impact on farmers’ livelihoods taken into consideration.
The assurance is expected to provide relief to thousands of farmers who may have suffered damage to their standing crops, agricultural fields and other farming activities due to the unfavorable weather conditions. The government’s focus will remain on ensuring a transparent assessment of losses and timely disbursement of assistance to the genuinely affected beneficiaries.
The Minister further indicated that the concerned departments and district-level authorities will undertake the necessary assessment and reporting process. After verification of the reported losses, eligible beneficiaries will be identified and the approved assistance amount will be credited directly to their respective bank accounts.
