Bhubaneswar, July 22 UDN}: After the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the voter list for the state will be prepared. The electoral roll will be prepared for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections in Odisha, informed the Secretary of the State Election Commission.
The voter list preparation process will be carried out from October 26 to November 7. A decision to conduct a door-to-door survey was taken at a meeting held today. The process of forming teams for the survey will be completed by July 31. The teams will include Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Anganwadi workers, and ASHA workers.
The voter lists for all wards are expected to be published by February 10. The Panchayat and municipal elections may be slightly delayed due to the Census exercise.
At today’s meeting, it was also decided to repair the old ballot boxes. Some new ballot boxes have also been purchased. Measures will be taken to ensure that a voter cannot cast votes at two different places. To prevent such duplication, the authorities have decided to adopt a de-duplication app.
