Jeypore, July 22 UDN}:: Ishika Sahu, a meritorious student from Jeypore, has brought immense pride to her hometown by achieving remarkable success in various examinations and academic pursuits. She secured 95.3 per cent marks in the ICSE Class 10 examination in 2016. In 2018, she passed the Science stream from Vikram Dev Higher Secondary School with 90 per cent marks. She also secured 13th position at the state level in the Plus Two examination and emerged as the topper of Vikram Dev Higher Secondary School.
In 2019, Ishika secured 21st position in Odisha in the NEET examination, qualifying for medical education. She subsequently pursued her MBBS course at SLN Medical College in Koraput and secured the top position in the final-year examination in 2024. In recognition of her outstanding academic performance, she was awarded three gold medals by MKCG Medical College and SLN Medical College.
Throughout her MBBS course, Ishika demonstrated exceptional academic excellence and won a total of six gold medals for securing the highest marks in various subjects. After completing her MBBS, she also successfully cleared the doctor recruitment examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
Ishika credits her remarkable success to the continuous support, encouragement and inspiration she received from her family. She is the granddaughter of renowned Jeypore sweet shop owner Yogendranath Sahu and Usharani Sahu of Rajnagar Chhak. Her father, Dr. Gupta Prasad Sahu, is the proprietor of ‘Yogendra Computer’, while her mother, Mamata Sahu, is a homemaker.
Ishika has also credited Jeypore court advocate Pushpanjali Sahu for playing an important role in her success. Following the publication of the INICET examination results on July 10, the people of Jeypore expressed happiness and pride over Ishika’s outstanding achievement.
