Baipariguda: July 24 UDN}:The first Bhima Bhoi Samarthya Abhiyan (BBSA) camp of the financial year 2026–27 was successfully organized at Ramgiri under Baipariguda Block. The camp was organized with the objective of providing various government facilities and services to persons with disabilities under one roof.
A large number of persons with disabilities attended the camp and registered themselves. Various services, including health check-ups, disability assessment, preparation of disability certificates, assistance related to UDID cards, and information on government allowances, education, self-reliance and rehabilitation schemes, were provided to the beneficiaries. Eligible beneficiaries were also identified for assistive devices.
A total of 234 persons with disabilities attended the camp. Among them, 85 had orthopedic disabilities, 46 had hearing and speech disabilities, 42 had visual disabilities, 46 had intellectual disabilities, and 15 belonged to other disability categories.
Officials and personnel from the Social Welfare Department, Health Department, Block Administration and other concerned departments, along with doctors, health workers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and volunteers, actively supported the camp. The role of the local administration in ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp was highly appreciated.
The officials present at the camp stated that the main objective of the campaign is to ensure easy access to various government welfare schemes for persons with disabilities and to bring them into the mainstream of society.
At the conclusion of the camp, the beneficiaries welcomed the government initiative and demanded that such camps be organized regularly in the future. The programme was smoothly coordinated by Block Social Security Officer Kartik Padhi.
