Land Transfer Underway for Much-Awaited Jeypore–Nabarangpur New Railway Line

Borigumma, July 25 UDN}:: The land acquisition process for the Jeypore-Nabarangpur new railway line project is almost complete following the survey, and the administration has now begun the process of handing over the acquired land to the Railway Department.
A total of 30.410 acres of land from the Bargaan and Aunli mouzas under Borigumma tehsil has been handed over to the Railway Department. Borigumma Tehsildar Shobhan Kumar Behera handed over the relevant land documents to SSE Rayagada Sai Ramakrishna, a railway official.
Of the total land, 10.971 acres were acquired from Bargaan mouza, and ₹1,42,55,940 was paid as compensation to 19 families who lost their land.
Similarly, 19.439 acres were acquired from Aunli mouza. Of the 34 land losers, compensation amounting to ₹1,32,77,722 has been paid to 30 families, Tehsildar Shobhan Kumar Behera informed.
