Bay of Bengal Depression Intensifies Weather System, Triggering Warning of Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar,  July 27 UDN}:  A depression has formed over the Bay of Bengal, triggering a weather alert across Odisha. Under the influence of this weather system, several parts of the state are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of intensified monsoon activity, with the possibility of widespread rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in some areas.

The weather system is expected to bring significant rainfall to multiple districts, particularly in areas that may fall along its projected path. Residents have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying and waterlogged regions where heavy rain could lead to temporary flooding, waterlogging, and disruption of normal life.
