Bhadrak Boat Mishap Averted as Stranded Vessel Pulled Safely to Shore

Bhadrak, July 27 (UDN): A passenger boat carrying several commuters was stranded in the middle of a river for more than three hours after getting stuck in water weeds near Panchutikri Ghat under Chandbali block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Monday.

The boat became immobile due to the obstruction, leaving passengers stranded and causing panic among commuters. Local people immediately stepped in to help, tying a rope to the boat and pulling it towards the riverbank with collective efforts.

After a sustained rescue attempt, the boat was successfully brought back to the shore, and all passengers were reported safe.

The incident has raised concerns over navigation difficulties caused by water weeds and the need for regular maintenance of river routes to ensure safe movement of passenger boats.
