Bhubaneswar, July 28 (UDN): The deep depression that crossed the Odisha-West Bengal coast has moved further inland, bringing the possibility of continued rainfall across Odisha and neighbouring regions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather system is currently located near Baripada in Odisha and is gradually moving in a west-northwest direction. The IMD said the system is likely to continue its movement across north Odisha, south Jharkhand, and nearby areas during the next 24 hours.
The depression is expected to bring widespread rainfall, with heavy to very heavy showers likely in several parts of north and interior Odisha. The continued downpour may lead to waterlogging and affect normal life in vulnerable areas.
District administrations are closely monitoring the situation and have been advised to remain prepared for possible rainfall-related challenges.
Authorities have urged residents to stay alert, avoid risky areas, and follow official weather updates as the system continues to influence conditions across the region.
