Bhubaneswar, July 31 UDN}: The Revenue and Disaster Management Minister carried out an extensive aerial survey of the flood-affected regions to review the prevailing flood situation and assess the scale of the disaster. During the aerial inspection, the Minister observed the inundated villages, submerged agricultural fields, damaged infrastructure, and the overall impact of the floods on people living in the affected districts.
The Minister stated that the government’s immediate priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected population by providing rescue, relief, and essential supplies. He also emphasized that a comprehensive assessment of the losses caused by the floods—including damage to houses, crops, roads, bridges, public infrastructure, and other properties—will be undertaken only after the floodwaters completely recede.
The damage assessment teams will visit the affected areas once conditions become safe and accessible. Based on their findings, the government will prepare detailed reports and extend appropriate financial assistance, rehabilitation measures, and compensation to the affected families and farmers in accordance with the prescribed norms. The Minister assured that no eligible beneficiary would be deprived of relief and that the state administration is closely monitoring the evolving flood situation while coordinating rescue and relief operations on a war footing.
