Bhubaneswar: July 31 UDN}:The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that rainfall activity across Odisha is expected to intensify from August 2, bringing moderate to heavy showers to several parts of the state. Weather experts have also predicted the possibility of the formation of another low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal around August 9, which could further enhance rainfall across Odisha and neighboring regions.
According to the forecast, the increase in monsoon activity is likely to result in widespread rainfall, with some districts experiencing heavy to very heavy precipitation. The anticipated low-pressure system, if it develops as projected, may strengthen the southwest monsoon and lead to another spell of significant rainfall during the second week of August.
The Meteorological Department is closely monitoring the evolving weather conditions and has advised residents, particularly those living in low-lying and flood-prone areas, to remain alert and follow official weather updates. Authorities are also expected to keep a close watch on river water levels and prepare for any potential weather-related impacts.
