Health Department Intensifies Measures to Ensure Uninterrupted Healthcare in Rain-Hit Districts

Bhubaneswar, July 31 (UDN): With several parts of Odisha reeling under incessant rainfall and flood-like conditions, the State Health and Family Welfare Department has stepped up efforts to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services in the affected districts. The department is closely monitoring the situation and has initiated a series of measures to ensure that emergency medical care remains accessible to people in vulnerable areas.

According to official sources, the department’s State Control Room has been functioning round the clock to coordinate relief and healthcare operations. Continuous monitoring is being carried out in coordination with district health authorities to facilitate a swift response to any medical emergency arising due to the prevailing weather conditions.

To strengthen preparedness, adequate stocks of essential medicines, life-saving drugs, emergency medical supplies and other healthcare necessities have been positioned in the affected districts. Government health institutions have also been instructed to remain on high alert and ensure that essential medical services continue without disruption despite the adverse weather.

District health authorities have been directed to stay fully prepared to respond to any emergency situation. Medical teams have been kept on standby, while contingency plans have been put in place to augment healthcare services and ensure timely supply of medicines and other critical resources wherever required.

The Health and Family Welfare Department has reiterated that ensuring uninterrupted, safe and quality healthcare services for people affected by the heavy rains remains its top priority. Officials said the situation is being reviewed continuously, and additional measures will be taken as necessary to safeguard public health and strengthen the state’s emergency medical response.
