Bhitarkanika Aug 3 [UDN}: After remaining closed for nearly three months, Bhitarkanika National Park, one of Odisha’s most celebrated eco-tourism destinations, has officially reopened for visitors. The annual closure was enforced to protect the breeding season of saltwater crocodiles and to ensure minimal disturbance to the park’s rich biodiversity. With the conservation period now over, the gates of the national park have once again been opened, allowing tourists, wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers to experience its breathtaking natural beauty.
Visitors can now enjoy thrilling boat safaris through the winding mangrove creeks, witness the park’s famous estuarine crocodiles in their natural habitat, observe a wide variety of migratory and resident bird species, and explore the lush greenery that makes Bhitarkanika one of India’s most important wetland ecosystems.
