Cuttack, Aug 3 [UDN}:Odisha: Owing to the strong water current and rising water level in the Mahanadi River, the Cuttack district administration has enforced strict safety measures to prevent any untoward incidents. As part of these precautionary steps, public entry to Gadagadia Ghat has been completely prohibited until further notice.
The administration has appealed to residents, tourists, and visitors to stay away from the riverbanks and avoid venturing into restricted areas. Police personnel and local officials have been deployed at the ghat to enforce the restrictions and ensure public safety.
Authorities have warned that the river is experiencing a powerful flow due to increased upstream water discharge and recent heavy rainfall. The swift current poses a serious risk to anyone attempting to approach or enter the river.
The district administration has urged everyone to cooperate with the safety guidelines, avoid unnecessary travel near the river, and strictly follow official advisories. The restrictions will remain in place until the river conditions improve and the administration declares the area safe for public access.
