All Schools Across the State to Hold PTA-cum-SMC Meetings on August 4, While Flood-Affected Districts May Conduct Them by August 14

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 3 [UDN}:  The School and Mass Education Department has directed that PTA-cum-SMC (Parent-Teacher Association-cum-School Management Committee) meetings will be conducted in all schools across the state on August 4. These meetings are aimed at strengthening coordination between parents, teachers, and school management committees, while reviewing academic progress, student welfare, school infrastructure, attendance, and other key educational issues.
For schools located in flood-affected areas, where conducting the meeting on August 4 may not be feasible due to the prevailing situation, the department has provided flexibility. Such schools have been instructed to ensure that at least one PTA-cum-SMC meeting is organized on any suitable day on or before August 14. This relaxation has been given to accommodate the challenges faced by schools and communities affected by floods while ensuring that parental participation and school-level planning continue without disruption.
The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining close collaboration between schools and parents, even in the aftermath of natural disasters, and to ensuring that students’ education and well-being remain a priority.
