Tributes Paid to Late Sadhu Prasad Sahu During Commemorative Event as His Life and Contributions Are Highlighted Through New Book Release

Kotpad: Aug 3 [UDN}:A memorial meeting in memory of the late Sadhu Prasad Sahu was held today at the Sahu family residence in Belema Sahi, Kotpad. On the occasion, family members and distinguished guests paid floral tributes to the departed soul and ceremonially released a commemorative book titled “Swayamsiddha Sadhu Prasad”, dedicated to his life and legacy.
Late Sadhu Prasad Sahu was the only son of the late Gopinath Sahu, a respected freedom fighter. He was widely known in the Kotpad region as a successful businessman, an accomplished football and badminton player, an outstanding farmer, and a compassionate philanthropist. Apart from being a prominent entrepreneur, he also owned a well-known rice mill and earned immense respect in society for his generosity, humility, and commitment to helping others.
As a tribute to his remarkable contributions, the Sahu family released a memorial publication titled “Siddhahasta – Sadhu Shraddhanjali”, highlighting various aspects of his inspiring life and achievements. The commemorative book was prepared by Prakash Mohanty, a teacher and television artist from the Kotpad area, with the wholehearted support of the Sahu family.
The book release ceremony was attended by several eminent personalities, including former Kotpad MLA Chandrasekhar Majhi, Chairman M. Shankar Rao, senior advocate Jitendra Mohapatra, Ganesh Panda, President of Gopabandhu Library, Ranjan Mahuria, Hemanta Patra, and the late Sadhu Prasad Sahu’s eldest son Laxminarayan Sahu, along with his four sons, daughters, other family members, relatives, and many respected citizens of the locality.
The programme began with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp before the portrait of the late Sadhu Prasad Sahu, followed by a two-minute silent prayer in his memory. Speakers fondly recalled his contributions to society, his dedication to business and agriculture, his sporting achievements, and his generous nature that touched countless lives.
At the conclusion of the event, prayers were offered to Lord Jagannath for the eternal peace of the departed soul. Participants also prayed that the Almighty grant strength, courage, and patience to the bereaved family members during this difficult time.
The memorial gathering witnessed the presence of intellectuals, social workers, well-wishers, residents of Belema Sahi, and members of the extended Sahu family. The programme concluded with the serving of Mahaprasad (community feast), where all attendees shared a meal together as a mark of respect and remembrance for the late Sadhu Prasad Sahu.
