Bhubaneswar, Aug 4 [UDN}: In a significant relief measure for people affected by the recent floods, the Odisha Government has announced a financial assistance package of ₹110 crore during the initial phase of relief and rehabilitation. The announcement aims to provide immediate support to flood-hit families, restore essential services, and accelerate recovery efforts in the affected districts.
The funds will be utilized for emergency relief operations, distribution of food and essential supplies, temporary shelter arrangements, restoration of damaged infrastructure, and assistance to families who have suffered losses due to the floods. The state government has assured that additional financial support will be provided if required after a detailed assessment of the damage.
Officials have been directed to ensure that relief reaches the affected people without delay, while district administrations continue rescue, rehabilitation, and restoration work on a priority basis. The government has reiterated its commitment to extending every possible assistance until normalcy is fully restored in the flood-affected regions.
