Cuttack, Aug. 4 (UDN): President Droupadi Murmu on Monday inaugurated Jagadguru Kripalu University in Odisha’s Cuttack district and urged higher educational institutions to foster an environment that enables young people to realise their potential while nurturing strong values and a sense of national responsibility.

Addressing the gathering, the President said universities should not only impart academic knowledge but also serve as centres for holistic development, where students can develop their talents and fulfil their dreams and aspirations.
She emphasised that institutions of higher learning have a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens guided by integrity, discipline, compassion and commitment to the national interest. According to the President, universities must focus on building character alongside academic excellence to prepare students for the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
President Murmu said education should empower students to become ethical leaders and responsible members of society, capable of contributing meaningfully to the country’s progress.
The inauguration of Jagadguru Kripalu University marks a significant addition to Odisha’s higher education landscape and reflects the growing emphasis on expanding quality educational opportunities in the state.
The President’s address underscored the importance of value-based education, innovation and inclusive learning in developing a skilled and socially responsible generation that can contribute to India’s long-term development.
