Bhubaneswar, Aug 4 (UDN): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for five Odisha districts, forecasting light to moderate rainfall, lightning and thunderstorms during the next three hours.
As per the nowcast warning issued at 11 am, rain and thunderstorm activity is expected at one or two places across Bargarh, Nuapada, Khordha, Koraput and Mayurbhanj districts.
The weather agency has advised residents in the affected areas to remain cautious and stay updated with the latest weather information. People have been urged to take necessary precautions, particularly during thunderstorms, to avoid risks associated with lightning and sudden weather changes.
The IMD has also advised people to avoid unnecessary outdoor movement during storm activity and stay away from open fields, isolated trees and electrical structures.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, with further updates expected based on weather developments.
