Animal Safety Becomes Key Priority in Flood Management as Odisha Government Takes Steps to Rescue and Protect Livestock in Flood-Hit Areas

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 6 [UDN}:  The Odisha Government has accorded top priority to protecting and saving the lives of domestic animals and livestock in flood-affected regions. The Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department has organised special animal health camps in Begunia, Balipatna, and Balianta blocks of Khordha district to provide medical care and support to affected animals.
Along with veterinary services, cattle feed is being distributed among livestock owners in these flood-hit blocks. Comprehensive arrangements have also been made at temporary shelters to ensure proper care, safety, and maintenance of cattle and other domestic animals displaced due to the flood situation.
The initiative aims to safeguard livestock, provide timely healthcare, and minimise losses faced by farmers and animal owners during the ongoing flood crisis. The department is continuously monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to ensure the well-being of animals in affected areas.
