Bhubaneswar, Aug 6 [UDN}:Odisha has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for approving an advance financial assistance of ₹500 crore to help the state tackle the ongoing flood situation.
The assistance, provided through the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), will support relief, rescue, rehabilitation, and restoration activities in flood-affected areas across Odisha.
The funds are expected to accelerate emergency response measures, provide essential support to affected communities, and help the state administration undertake recovery efforts in the aftermath of the floods. The Odisha government stated that the central assistance will strengthen ongoing relief operations and ensure timely aid reaches people impacted by the natural calamity.
