Bhubaneswar, Aug 7 [UDN}:The BKPPER Project is set to begin soon, according to a major announcement by the Chief Secretary. The ambitious project has been planned for the overall development of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Paradip.
Following approval from the State-Level Project Monitoring Committee, the Odisha Government has decided to commence the project works. The government will initially start the implementation using its own resources before receiving central assistance and loan support.
The BKPPER Project aims to transform the four major cities by focusing on the development of modern infrastructure, industrial growth, tourism promotion, urban connectivity, and economic expansion.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the region’s role as a major growth corridor of Odisha by improving civic facilities, attracting investments, enhancing tourism infrastructure, and creating new employment opportunities.
The project will bring together the strategic importance of Bhubaneswar as an administrative and IT hub, Cuttack as a commercial and cultural centre, Puri as a global tourism destination, and Paradip as a major industrial and port city.
The Odisha Government is preparing to accelerate the implementation process, with further details regarding project components, investment plans, and timelines expected to be announced soon.
