Seven Critically Injured After Speeding Car Ploughs Into Two-Wheelers in Jajpur

Jajpur, Aug. 7 (UDN): At least seven people sustained critical injuries after a speeding car allegedly rammed into multiple two-wheelers at Kuakhia Bazaar in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Thursday, triggering panic in the busy market area.

According to preliminary reports, the car was moving at a high speed when it collided with two motorcycles and a scooter, leaving several riders seriously injured. The impact of the crash caused chaos as bystanders rushed to assist the victims.

Victims Undergoing Treatment

Local residents immediately launched a rescue effort and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals in ambulances. Most of the victims were admitted to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), while others were taken to the Madhuban Community Health Centre for treatment.

Hospital sources said all seven injured persons were in critical condition and were receiving medical care.

Driver Taken Into Custody

Police have detained the driver of the car involved in the incident. The vehicle has also been seized as part of the investigation.

Officials from Kuakhia Police Station reached the accident site soon after the incident and began collecting evidence to determine the exact sequence of events and the circumstances that led to the crash.

Further investigation is underway, and police are examining whether rash or negligent driving was responsible for the accident.
