Balangir ,Aug 8 [UDN}: The auspicious timing (Lagna) for the celebration of Nuakhai has been finalized in Balangir.
The date and time were officially announced by the Royal Priest at Shailashree Palace after the Pandit Mahasabha concluded its deliberations. The Muhurat was determined based on the astrological positions (Rashi and Nakshatra) of Goddess Pataneswari, Goddess Samaleswari, and the Patna Maharaja.
According to the announcement, Nabanna Lagi (the ceremonial offering of newly harvested rice to the deity) will be performed on September 15, corresponding to Shukla Paksha Panchami of the Bhadra month.
The sacred offering to Goddess Pataneswari will take place between 9:36 AM and 10:10 AM.
The fixing of the Nuakhai Muhurat is regarded as the first and one of the most significant traditional rituals marking the beginning of the Nuakhai festival celebrations.
