Umerkote, Aug 10 [UDN}: During the meeting, detailed information was provided to representatives of all recognised political parties regarding the current status of the SIR process, progress of claims and objections, and the hearing procedures being followed. The officials requested active cooperation from all political parties to prepare a transparent, error-free and accurate electoral roll.
The complete lists related to Form-9 (claims for inclusion of names), Form-10 (objections), Form-11, Form-11A and Form-11B received from different polling booths under the SIR process were handed over to representatives of recognised political parties. They were requested to examine the lists carefully and submit any objections or suggestions within the stipulated deadline.
The representatives were also informed that the Election Commission of India has extended the timeline for the SIR-2026 programme. It was stated that the hearing and disposal process of all claims and objections would be completed within the extended period.
Officials informed that, so far, the hearing process regarding 52,918 claims and objections has been successfully completed across the four Assembly Constituencies of the district. The EROs stated that the entire hearing process is being conducted in a fair, transparent and impartial manner in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
Representatives from major political parties attended the meeting, including Biju Janata Dal (BJD) representative Pramod Rath, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representative Saroj Behera, and Indian National Congress (INC) representative Pradeep Kumar Sahu, along with representatives of other recognised political parties. They shared their views, suggestions and feedback regarding the revision process.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Electoral Registration Officers appealed to all political parties to extend their active cooperation and participate in preparing a correct, transparent and mistake-free voter list.
Among others present at the meeting were Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Prusty, Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Barman, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darban, and Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra.
