Puri–Aug 10 [UDN}:Former MP Pradeep Majhi along with several political leaders has strongly urged the Railway Ministry to extend the newly introduced Puri–Koraput Express service up to Jeypore in Koraput district.
Passengers and local residents have argued that the train’s current late-night arrival at Koraput railway station creates major difficulties for travellers heading towards Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, and Jeypore. They highlighted concerns related to passenger safety, availability of transport facilities, and inconvenience caused due to the odd arrival timings.
The leaders stated that extending the train’s route to Jeypore would provide better connectivity to the southern districts of Odisha, benefit thousands of passengers, and improve railway accessibility in the region. They have requested the Railway Ministry to consider the demand at the earliest in the interest of the people of Koraput and adjoining districts.
