Bhubaneswar, Aug 12 [UDN}:The Odisha Government has taken a major decision regarding the procurement of Kharif paddy, providing significant relief to farmers across the state. The registration process for farmers who wish to sell their Kharif paddy to the government will continue until October, ensuring that no eligible farmer is left out of the procurement process.
The extended registration period is aimed at giving farmers sufficient time to complete the necessary formalities and register themselves for government-supported paddy procurement. The decision is expected to benefit a large number of farmers, particularly those who may have been unable to complete registration within the earlier deadline.
The government has emphasized that every eligible farmer should get an opportunity to participate in the procurement system and receive the assured benefits associated with the process. By extending the registration window until October, the authorities intend to make the procurement mechanism more inclusive, accessible and farmer-friendly.
The move is also expected to strengthen the state’s Kharif paddy procurement arrangements and ensure that farmers do not face difficulties in selling their produce through the authorized procurement system. The government has reiterated its commitment to protecting farmers’ interests and ensuring that no eligible cultivator is deprived of the opportunity to sell paddy under the official procurement mechanism.
