Balangir, Aug 14 [UDN}:A ‘Tiranga Rally’ was organised today in Puintala and Agalpur blocks. Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling attended the programme as the chief guest and flagged off the rally.
The rally began from the birthplace of renowned freedom fighter Dharam Singh Majhi Mandhata at Atgaon, after paying floral tributes to his memory. From Atgaon in Puintala block, the rally passed through Mahadevpali Shiv Mandir Square, Dashpur Hatpada, Tendipali, Chhatapipal, Kurebhana, Mehermunda, Randa, Satmail, Akariapadar and Jamgaon.
Later, the rally continued from Agalpur through Roth, Uparibahal, Duduka, Salebhata and Kutasinha before concluding at Rugudikhala Square.
Local residents, youth, students, volunteers, representatives of social organisations, government officials and employees participated in the rally carrying the Tricolour. Slogans promoting national unity and patriotism echoed throughout the route.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Dr. Mahaling said that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, being observed from August 9 to 17, is not merely a ceremonial programme but a symbol of the Indian spirit, patriotism, national unity and collective responsibility towards the nation’s honour. He called for active participation from every section of society to turn the campaign into a mass movement and ensure that the pride and respect for the Tricolour reaches every household. He appealed to everyone to join the campaign.
