District-Level Review of PM POSHAN and Chief Minister’s POSHAN Schemes Conducted in Koraput as Collector Chairs Key Management Committee Meeting

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 19 [UDN}:The meeting focused on reviewing and strengthening the implementation of the two important nutrition and school meal programmes in the district. Detailed discussions were held on the effective management and smooth functioning of the schemes, with emphasis on ensuring that eligible students receive nutritious and quality meals regularly.
Officials reviewed various aspects related to the implementation of the PM POSHAN programme, including the proper provision of meals to schoolchildren, quality and safety of food, availability of essential ingredients, kitchen and cooking arrangements, hygiene and sanitation, monitoring mechanisms, and timely utilisation of funds and resources. The meeting also discussed the implementation of the Chief Minister’s POSHAN Scheme, aimed at improving nutritional support for children and strengthening the overall welfare and development of students.
The District Collector stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all concerned departments and officials to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach every eligible child without interruption. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining transparency, accountability and regular monitoring at the grassroots level.
The committee discussed measures to address any difficulties arising during implementation and directed the concerned authorities to take timely corrective action wherever necessary. Officials were encouraged to regularly inspect schools and ensure that food is prepared and served in a clean, hygienic and safe environment.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of providing children with nutritious food to support their physical growth, improve their health and enhance their ability to concentrate on their studies. Proper implementation of these schemes was considered essential for promoting school attendance, reducing classroom hunger and improving the overall educational environment.
The District-Level Management Committee reviewed the progress of the programmes and discussed future strategies for their effective implementation across Koraput district. The concerned officials were directed to work in close coordination and ensure that the objectives of the PM POSHAN and Chief Minister’s POSHAN schemes are achieved effectively for the benefit of schoolchildren.
