National Deworming Day Inaugurated in Jharsuguda, Health Officials Emphasise Importance of Regular Deworming for Children and Adolescents

Jharsuguda: Aug 19 [UDN}:The National Deworming Day programme was formally inaugurated at St. Mary’s School under the aegis of the District Health Department. The initiative aims to protect children and adolescents from worm infections and promote their healthy physical and mental development.
District Public Health Officer Dr. Sunil Panda attended the inaugural programme as the chief guest and formally launched the campaign. Officials from the district health administration, including the District Programme Manager, Deputy Programme Manager of Reproductive and Child Health, and Assistant Programme Manager, were also present.
During the programme, students of St. Mary’s School were administered deworming tablets. Dr. Sunil Panda highlighted the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation to prevent worm infections and other related health problems.
The Health Department informed that deworming tablets are being safely administered to eligible children across the district. The tablets are also being distributed through educational institutions and Anganwadi centres so that children in different parts of Jharsuguda can benefit from the programme.
The campaign is aimed at reducing worm infections among children and adolescents and ensuring better health, nutrition, growth and overall development.
