Bhadrak,Aug 20 [UDN}: In view of the continuous heavy rainfall, flood situation, and ongoing restoration and rehabilitation work in Bhadrak district, the District Collector has ordered the closure of 126 schools across five blocks on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
The schools will remain closed in the following five blocks:
Bhadrak
Tihidi
Dhamnagar
Bhandaripokhari
Chandbali
The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school staff amid the prevailing weather and flood-related conditions. Normal functioning of the affected schools is expected to resume after the situation improves and further instructions are issued by the district administration.
