Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 [UDN}:The revision of the voter list has entered its final stage, with the Election Commission moving ahead with the remaining procedures to prepare the final electoral roll. The process is aimed at ensuring that the voter list is accurate, updated, and free from discrepancies before the final publication.
As part of the revision exercise, eligible citizens have been given an opportunity to verify their names and other details in the electoral roll and raise objections or submit claims wherever necessary. Corrections relating to names, addresses, photographs, age, and other voter-related information are being addressed during this process.
After completion of the scrutiny and disposal of claims and objections, the revised electoral roll will be finalised. According to the schedule, the final voter list is set to be published on September 21.
The publication of the final electoral roll will mark the completion of the current voter-list revision exercise. Citizens are advised to check the final list once it is released and ensure that their names and details have been correctly recorded. Those who find any discrepancy may approach the appropriate election authorities and follow the prescribed procedure for correction.
The exercise is considered important for ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the voter database.
