‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ Initiative Reviewed in Jharsuguda, Officials Emphasise Coordinated Efforts for Girls’ Welfare and Development

Jharsuguda: Aug 28 [UDN}:A district-level convergence meeting under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme was organised by the District Social Welfare Department at the DMF Auditorium Hall on the premises of the District Collector’s office in Jharsuguda.
Additional District Magistrate (General) Brajabandhu Bhoi attended the programme as the chief guest, while Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Lalit Soreng and Sub-Collector Sabyasachi Panda were present as distinguished guests.
At the beginning of the programme, Additional Sub-Collector-cum-District Social Welfare Officer Victoria delivered the welcome address and outlined the objectives and focus of the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, ADM (General) Brajabandhu Bhoi emphasised higher education for girls, women’s empowerment, equal rights and representation of women in society. He said the administration remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of women and children. He also advised creating wider awareness about Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098 and Emergency Service 112.
ADM (Revenue) Lalit Soreng stressed the need to take the campaign more actively to rural areas and the grassroots level.
Sub-Collector Sabyasachi Panda called for increasing the child sex ratio in the district, ensuring effective implementation of government schemes, and developing Jharsuguda as a model district in the state and the country in the field of education.
DSP Manda Hansda sensitised women and adolescent girls about cyberbullying, online fraud and cyber safety, urging them to remain vigilant against online threats.
Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee Sanjukta Mahapatra, Legal Affairs Manager Somadatta Purohit, and Planning Coordinator Sushant Kumar Das, representing the District Education Officer, among others, participated in the meeting and shared their views.
District Child Protection Officer Sunanda Maharana, Dr Pushpashree Nayak, Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Krishnakeshi Baliarsingh, along with a large number of adolescent girls, members of self-help groups and Anganwadi workers, were also present.
