Malkangiri , Aug 31 [UDN}: A major piece of good news for the people of Malkangiri district is that direct commercial air connectivity between Malkangiri and the state capital, Bhubaneswar, is set to begin from September 3.
The new service is expected to fulfil a long-standing demand of residents of the remote border district and significantly improve connectivity with the state capital. Initially, the service will be operated using a 9-seater aircraft.
To make ticket booking convenient, a dedicated online portal will reportedly be launched soon. Passengers will be able to book their seats online from the comfort of their homes.
The district administration has completed the necessary preparations to facilitate the new air service and provide assistance to passengers. The launch is expected to boost travel, administrative connectivity, business activities and accessibility for people across Malkangiri district.
