29th November 2024: The Odisha government has renamed 21 schemes introduced by the previous administration, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Assembly on Thursday. The renaming of these key welfare programs is part of efforts to rebrand existing initiatives.
Several schemes named after the late Biju Patnaik, father of former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, have been rebranded, including Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana, and Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana. The popular KALIA scheme, which supported farmers, is now called CM-KISAN to align with the central government’s PM-KISAN initiative.
Other programs, such as ‘Mo School Abhiyaan’ and ‘Mo College Abhiyaan,’ have been renamed to ‘Panchasakha Sikhya Setu’ and ‘Ama Gaurav Ama College.’ Along with the renaming, the government has introduced seven new initiatives, including the Godabarisha Mishra Adar scheme.
These changes are aimed at reshaping the state’s welfare programs and introducing new initiatives to better serve the people.
