Bhubaneswar: Sept 11 [UDN}: The celebrations of Ganesh Puja in the capital city have taken on a grand and spectacular scale this year, with enormous Lord Ganesha idols becoming one of the major attractions across different parts of the city. The height of the idols varies considerably, with some standing at around 5 feet while others reaching an impressive 71 feet.
The increasingly elaborate celebrations have given Bhubaneswar a distinct festive atmosphere, with beautifully decorated puja pandals, colourful lighting, artistic installations and large-scale arrangements drawing the attention of devotees and visitors. In several locations, the sheer size and grandeur of the idols have created a visual spectacle reminiscent of the famous Ganesh festival celebrations of Mumbai.
The towering 71-foot idol has emerged as a particular attraction, highlighting the growing enthusiasm among puja committees and devotees to celebrate the festival on a larger and more impressive scale. At the same time, smaller idols of around 5 feet are also being installed at various locations, reflecting the diversity of celebrations across the city.
With elaborate decorations, vibrant pandals and massive idols transforming several neighbourhoods, Bhubaneswar is witnessing a festive atmosphere that offers residents a glimpse of the grandeur traditionally associated with Mumbai’s iconic Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
