Jeypore,Sept 15 [UDN}: The Koraput district Gopal Samaj organised a condolence meeting to mourn the demise of noted social worker Kapila Chandra Mahakul, remembering his long-standing contribution to society and his dedicated service to the community.
The memorial meeting was held under the chairmanship of Gopal Samaj president Kabiraj Parameswar Patra. Gopal Samaj secretary Rajendra Kumar Gauda spoke about the life and contributions of the late Mahakul and recalled his commitment to social service throughout his life.
Speakers highlighted Mahakul’s significant role in establishing a Satsang Kendra of Param Premamaya Thakur Anukul Chandra in Jeypore. He had made sustained efforts towards setting up the centre and eventually succeeded in fulfilling the initiative, thereby contributing to the spiritual and social activities of the local community.
The meeting also recalled that even at the age of 84, Mahakul continued to discharge his responsibilities associated with the Thakur with dedication. His active cooperation had also helped the community organise the Nanda Utsav every year, participants said.
During the condolence programme, members observed two minutes of silence and offered prayers in memory of the departed soul. They paid floral tributes and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Gopal Samaj adviser Dr Sudarshan Gauda, along with Bhaskar Chandra Gauda and other members, attended the meeting and paid their respects to the deceased social worker. The participants remembered Kapila Chandra Mahakul as a dedicated social worker whose contribution to community and spiritual activities would remain a part of the local community’s collective memory.
