Bhubaneswar, Sept 15 [UDN}:Cancer treatment in Odisha is set to move beyond major cities, with the state government planning to bring essential cancer-care services closer to patients in rural and remote areas.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling announced that cancer-care vans will soon operate across the state, helping patients access screening, follow-up care and other essential services closer to home.
Under the proposed system, patients will receive their first cycle of chemotherapy at Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre in Cuttack, while subsequent chemotherapy sessions can be taken at their respective district headquarters hospitals.
