Bhubaneswar, Sept 15 [UDN}:Once a fighter pilot who challenged the enemy in the skies, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has now embarked on a new journey. After nearly two decades of service in the Indian Air Force, the recipient of the Vir Chakra has chosen a new career path and is set to fly passenger aircraft.
Abhinandan’s journey now takes him from the cockpit of a fighter jet to the cockpit of a commercial passenger plane, marking a significant new chapter in his professional life.
He gained nationwide recognition for his courageous role during the 2019 aerial confrontation with Pakistan. His bravery and valour during the encounter earned him the prestigious Vir Chakra, one of India’s wartime gallantry awards.
