Odisha CM Heads to Delhi for Semicon India Summit, Finance Ministers’ Meet

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 18 (UDN): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has travelled to New Delhi to participate in two major national-level events focusing on investment, technology and fiscal cooperation.

Majhi is scheduled to attend the Semicon India-2026 summit on Friday, followed by the All-India Finance Ministers’ Conference on Saturday. The finance ministers’ meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Odisha eyes semiconductor investments

An Odisha delegation is accompanying the Chief Minister to the Semicon India summit, where the state is expected to showcase its investment opportunities in the semiconductor and electronics sectors.

According to the Chief Minister, the delegation will hold discussions with representatives from Europe, Japan and South Korea, with investors from these regions having shown interest in exploring opportunities in Odisha.

Focus on building semiconductor ecosystem

The state government has been seeking to position Odisha as an emerging destination for semiconductor-related investments. The Delhi visit is expected to provide an opportunity to engage with industry representatives and explore potential partnerships in the sector.

The government is focusing on attracting investments and developing an ecosystem that can support semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing in the state.

Finance Ministers’ conference

Majhi will also participate in the All-India Finance Ministers’ Conference on Saturday. The meeting is expected to provide a platform for discussions on issues concerning state finances and economic cooperation between the Centre and states.

The Chief Minister’s Delhi visit comes as Odisha continues its efforts to attract new investments while strengthening its engagement with national-level policy and economic forums.
