Young Taekwondo Practitioners Take Part in Belt Examination Held in Nabarangpur, Marking an Important Step in Their Training

Nabarangpur: Sept 19 [UDN}:A district-level Taekwondo belt examination was successfully conducted in Nabarangpur, providing young sportspersons an opportunity to demonstrate and evaluate their skills across different grades of the martial art.

The belt examination was organised at the premises of the local Regulated Market Committee (RMC) in Nabarangpur. More than 100 Taekwondo trainees and student-athletes participated in the examination and showcased their technical abilities, discipline and physical fitness before the examiners.

The programme was attended by Manoj Kumar Patnaik, joint secretary of the District Sports Association, as the chief guest, while noted dramatist Jagannath Behera attended as the distinguished guest. Both guests encouraged the participating sportspersons and appreciated their efforts to pursue martial arts alongside their education and other activities.

Chief coach Harish Chandra Behera played an important role in conducting the programme. Coaches and instructors, including Rasananda Satnami, Basanta Durga, Himanshu Pattnaik, Ashutosh Pujari, Ganesh Pujari and Rabindra Bhatra, were present and assisted in the smooth conduct of the belt examination.

Following the assessment, belts and certificates were presented to participants who successfully cleared the respective grades. The recognition was aimed at encouraging the trainees to continue their practice and progress towards higher levels of Taekwondo proficiency.

Parents of the participating students were also present during the programme. Their presence and encouragement provided additional motivation to the young athletes as they took part in the examination and demonstrated the skills they had developed through regular training.

The organisers and guests highlighted the broader importance of martial arts training for young people. They said that regular participation in Taekwondo can contribute to the development of discipline, self-confidence, physical fitness, concentration and a sense of responsibility among students.

The district-level belt examination was also seen as an effort to expand the reach of Taekwondo in Nabarangpur and create greater opportunities for local youngsters to participate in organised sports. Such examinations allow trainees to measure their progress systematically while motivating them to continue training and pursue higher grades.

With participation from more than 100 student-athletes, the event reflected the growing interest in martial arts among young people in the district. The organisers expressed hope that continued training, regular examinations and greater participation in competitions would help nurture promising Taekwondo talent from Nabarangpur in the coming years.
