Malkangiri , Sept 22 [UDN}:The Odisha Tourism Department, in association with the Malkangiri district administration, has launched the ‘Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana’ in a grand ceremony aimed at facilitating devotees from the district to visit the holy city of Puri and have darshan of Lord Jagannath.
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida virtually inaugurated the programme. Following the inauguration, a fleet of Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) buses carrying 490 devotees departed from the Malkangiri Sanskruti Bhawan for Puri.
The ceremonial flag-off was held in the presence of Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Madkami, Malkangiri Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke, and other dignitaries. The launch programme also featured cultural performances, adding a festive atmosphere to the occasion.
The initiative is intended to provide devotees with an opportunity to undertake a pilgrimage to Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri through an organised and facilitated travel programme.
Officials and dignitaries extended their best wishes to all the participating devotees and prayed to Lord Jagannath for their journey to be safe, comfortable and spiritually fulfilling.
