Ganjam, Sept. 22 (UDN): Rough sea conditions triggered by a depression over the Bay of Bengal have forced more than 27 fishing trawlers from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh to seek shelter along the Ganjam coast.

The trawlers were reportedly on their way back to Kakinada when turbulent waters prevented them from continuing their journey. With conditions worsening, the fishermen moved towards the Aryapalli fishing jetty for safety.
Administration Steps In
Following information about the stranded boats, the Ganjam district administration swung into action and extended assistance to the fishermen.
Officials are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts to ensure the safety of those on board. Most of the trawlers have already reached the jetty, while a few remain at sea.
Efforts Underway To Bring Boats Ashore
The Fisheries Department has initiated measures to bring the remaining trawlers and their crews safely to the shore.
Authorities are maintaining close vigil along the Ganjam coastline as the depression continues to influence sea conditions and have urged fishing communities to remain cautious until the weather improves.
