Bhubaneswar, Sept. 22 (UDN): The distribution of revised school textbooks has begun across Odisha following corrections to errors found in earlier editions, with students in several schools receiving the updated books on Tuesday.

However, the rollout is yet to be completed in all schools, with students in some areas reporting that they are still waiting for copies of essential textbooks.
Shortage Reported In Some Schools
While revised books have reached a number of institutions, students at some schools said they have not yet received their complete set.
The delay has forced teachers in certain schools to rely on PDF versions of the textbooks to continue classroom lessons.
Students said access to physical copies is particularly important for studying after school hours, when they may not have convenient access to mobile devices or digital material.
One student, Swapnajit Sahu, said his school was yet to receive the revised books and urged the authorities to ensure their distribution at the earliest.
Another student, Aishwarya Das, said copies of Mathematics, English and Hindi textbooks were still unavailable at her school, making it difficult to study outside the classroom.
Schools Await Remaining Copies
School authorities said the distribution process is continuing and that students will be provided with the revised books once supplies reach the institutions.
Amulya Mishra, headmaster of Alanahat Government High School, said the school would distribute the books immediately after receiving them.
He added that the necessary corrections had been made in June 2026 and expressed hope that students would not face further inconvenience.
The ongoing distribution follows concerns over errors in the earlier editions of government textbooks, which had also emerged as an issue during the Odisha Assembly’s Monsoon Session.
