Bhubaneswar, Sept 23 [UDN}:Amid the possibility of heavy rainfall triggered by the prevailing low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, authorities have issued an alert for 11 districts of Odisha.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg reviewed the preparedness measures with the Collectors of the 11 affected districts. During the review meeting, the district administrations were directed to remain vigilant and ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place to deal with the anticipated heavy rainfall and any related situation.
The administration is closely monitoring the weather conditions and has been advised to take timely precautionary measures to ensure the safety of people and minimise the impact of rain-related incidents.
The review assumes significance as the weather system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to several parts of the state. District-level authorities are being asked to remain prepared for possible waterlogging, flooding, disruption of road communication and other rain-related challenges.
