BJP Unveils List of In-Charges for 36 States and Union Territories, Sets Out Fresh Organisational Responsibilities

Bhubaneswar, Sept 24   [UDN}:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced its new organisational in-charges and co-in-charges for all 36 states and Union Territories. The appointments were announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and take immediate effect. 

A major change for Odisha is the appointment of D. Purandeshwari as the BJP’s state in-charge, with Dr Swadesh Singh named co-in-charge. Purandeshwari had earlier served as the party’s Odisha in-charge and is returning to the role. She and Singh replace Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and Lata Usendi, respectively. 

Odisha BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Baijayant Jay Panda has been appointed Maharashtra in-charge. He will be assisted by Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat as co-in-charges.

The reshuffle places several senior BJP leaders in charge of more than one state, including Smriti Irani, Harish Dwivedi, Satish Poonia, Ram Madhav and Sunil Bansal.
