Bhubaneswar, Sept 24 [UDN}:A meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) was held in Koraput to review and approve the selection of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Handloom Development Scheme (MHDY), implemented by the Department of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts.
The meeting focused on the identification and approval of eligible weavers and handicraft artisans from the district for assistance under the scheme. The initiative aims to provide financial support to eligible beneficiaries, helping them become economically self-reliant and strengthen their livelihoods.
The scheme also seeks to promote and preserve Odisha’s traditional handloom and handicraft heritage, while encouraging local artisans to continue their traditional skills and crafts.
