Koraput, September 24, 2026: Several parts of Koraput district received heavy rainfall on Thursday, with 1,385.3 mm of cumulative rainfall recorded across 14 blocks between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, according to the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC), Koraput.
The district recorded an average rainfall of 99.0 mm during the 10-hour period, reflecting widespread and intense rainfall across the region.
Boriguma recorded the highest rainfall at 186.0 mm, followed by Narayanpatna at 177.6 mm and Laxmipur at 161.0 mm. Bandhugaon recorded 130.2 mm, while Semiliguda received 122.0 mm during the period.
Other significant rainfall totals included Jeypore (112.6 mm), Kotpad (105.0 mm), Koraput (95.6 mm), Dasmantpur (65.0 mm), Kundra (62.2 mm), Lamtaput (50.7 mm), Boipariguda (50.0 mm), Pottangi (40.4 mm) and Nandapur (27.0 mm).
