Sambalpur:Sept 25 [UDN}: Sambalpur MP and former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan returned to Bhubaneswar on Thursday after completing a four-day tour of his parliamentary constituency. During the visit, he attended a series of government, private and political programmes across Sambalpur, Kuchinda, Deogarh and Rairakhol.
On the final afternoon of his tour, however, Pradhan’s unusual mode of travel drew considerable attention. Leaving behind his official car convoy, the MP travelled around Sambalpur on a motorcycle along with party workers and government officials, conducting on-the-ground reviews of ongoing development projects.
Reviews Railway Station Redevelopment and Road Projects
As part of his field visit, Pradhan inspected Sambalpur Junction, Hirakud Railway Station and Sambalpur City Railway Station, all covered under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He reviewed the progress of ongoing redevelopment and renovation works at the stations and interacted with officials regarding the status of the projects.
He also reviewed various road development projects being undertaken in and around Sambalpur. During discussions with officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), he took stock of road improvement and repair works and asked officials to expedite the ongoing projects.
The motorcycle ride and direct inspection of project sites reportedly attracted attention among local residents, with photographs and videos of the MP travelling by bike circulating on social media.
BJP Spokesperson Hails Ground-Level Inspection
Reacting to the development, BJP state spokesperson Manas Ranjan Buxi said that Pradhan’s approach reflected his effort to reach the ground and work for the overall development of the region.
Buxi said that, according to his view, such a style of field-level engagement by a Sambalpur MP was unprecedented in the constituency’s history and had generated fresh expectations among local residents regarding development.
The four-day visit covered multiple parts of the Sambalpur parliamentary constituency and included reviews of ongoing infrastructure projects as well as participation in various official and political programmes.
