Koraput, Sept 25 [UDN}:: Odisha Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Fisheries and Animal Resources Development and the MSME Department, Gokulananda Mallik, arrived at Jeypore Airport on Monday as part of his official visit to Koraput district.
During his visit, Minister Mallik is scheduled to review the implementation and progress of various development programmes and welfare schemes being undertaken by the Fisheries, Animal Resources Development and MSME departments in the district. The review is expected to focus on the progress of ongoing initiatives, implementation at the grassroots level and the benefits reaching eligible beneficiaries.
The Minister will also interact with beneficiaries and stakeholders during the visit to understand their experiences, requirements and challenges associated with the implementation of departmental schemes. Such interactions are expected to provide an opportunity to assess the ground-level impact of government programmes and identify areas requiring further attention.
Officials of the Koraput district administration welcomed Minister Mallik at Jeypore Airport on his arrival. Senior district-level officials and representatives of the concerned departments were present to receive the Minister.
The visit assumes significance for Koraput, where fisheries, livestock-related activities, small enterprises and other livelihood-based sectors play an important role in supporting rural and tribal communities. The review of departmental schemes is expected to help assess the current status of development initiatives and explore measures for strengthening their implementation in the district.
The Government of Odisha, through its Fisheries and Animal Resources Development and MSME departments, has been implementing various programmes aimed at supporting livelihood opportunities, strengthening allied agricultural activities, promoting entrepreneurship and improving income-generation opportunities for beneficiaries.
During his stay in Koraput, the Minister is expected to hold discussions with district officials and review the progress of key initiatives before proceeding with other scheduled engagements.
The district administration has made arrangements for the Minister’s official visit and his programme of departmental reviews and interactions with beneficiaries.
