Jeypore,Sept 25 [UDN}: Preparations for the grand Jeypore Dussehra 2026 celebrations have moved forward with the completion of a key coordination meeting involving the administration and police authorities. The meeting reviewed various arrangements required to ensure that the annual festival is conducted smoothly, safely and in an organised manner.
A major focus of the meeting was on security arrangements at the various Puja mandaps across Jeypore. Authorities have decided to give special attention to the installation and monitoring of CCTV cameras at important locations so that crowd movement and public safety can be closely monitored during the festival.
Women’s safety was also given particular importance during the discussions. Security measures will be strengthened at crowded festival locations, with the administration and police expected to coordinate closely to prevent incidents and ensure a safe environment for women and other visitors.
Jeypore Sub-Collector Shubhra Panda and SDPO Archita Mittal briefed the media about the decisions taken at the preparation meeting. They highlighted the need for proper coordination among the departments concerned, festival organisers and security personnel to manage the large crowds expected during Dussehra.
The annual Jeypore Dussehra is one of the prominent traditional festivals of the region and attracts large numbers of devotees and visitors. With preparations for the 2026 celebrations underway, the authorities are working on security, crowd management and other essential arrangements well ahead of the festival.
